She Loves me?

I’ve given it some thought, and I wonder if part of the problem of why couples don’t think about what they bring to the table (And yes, men, bringing home a pay cheque doesn’t buy you love and loyalty.) is because the culture is so cynical toward romance.

My former husband and I were teen agers when we started dating, so love letters were like the air we breathed. Both of us would have to actually think and articulate each others qualities to write so many love letters, as well as the qualities that we wanted to cultivate. (yeah, I know, alphas every where vomiting at the thought.)

Ahh… youth. Yeah, teenagers and early 20-somethings often only care about how “hot” the sex is, and rarely look beyond that.

I’m curious though, if you and your ex-husband were as you described, why did you break up?
